El Tigre Waterfalls

El Tigre Waterfalls have 60 hectares of forest, with 2 different trails and 4 beautiful waterfalls between 15 and 30 meters high. The walk is about 3 hours + 35 minutes of horse back riding and the level of difficulty is intermediate-advanced. Technical difficulty in the trails. River crossing and rock trails. The forest remains 90% virgin so it is common to observe animals such as monkeys, snakes, peccaries, a variety of insects, birds and others.

We start in the morning picking you up from your hotel in Monteverde at 7:00am. 25 minutes later we arrive to EL Tigre. From here we go down to the the trails by horse back riding (for 30 min) . El Tigre Waterfalls has a beautiful viewpoint that let you see 4 volcanoes: Volcán Arenal, Volcán Rincón de la vieja, Volcán Tenorio y Volcán Miravalles. If the weather is nice you can also see part of the Guanacaste Province and the Arenal Lake. We start the hike and take the snack later next to the river.

THE BIG HIKE

This option does not include horses, safari 4×4 nor lucn. You will experince the forest, hiking without a guide through all the waterfalls, bridges and swiming pools in the river with no limit of time! You can bring snacks and eat them in the forest. We also sell delicious food at the small coffee place.

Once you arrive to the reception you will be able to park in a free and safe spot. At the reception we will give you a map and all the instructions you need to know before to start the hike.
